We feel lucky to be with such a wonderful group of children and their families! In preparation for St. Patrick’s Day, we will make shamrocks by marble painting and bake shamrock biscuits. Then we will discuss the colors of the rainbow to make our Pot of Gold. During the end of the month, we will have fun with egg hunts and chicks! March is going to be fun!

We are kicking the month of March off with all thing’s rainbows, gold, and leprechauns for St. Patrick’s Day. On Monday March, 16 we will do an early St. Patricks Day celebration by building leprechaun traps, doing Lucky Charm’s matching, and making magic potions. For the rest of the month, we will be beginning our Community Helpers unit featuring special visits from the local fire department and nurses. We will also be learning about doctors, dentists, veterinarians, USPS workers and more! As we explore different jobs in our community, we would love to include some familiar faces to help our discussions come to life. If you have any family members (yourselves included!) or friends who are community helpers (e.g., doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers, coaches, teachers, etc.), we invite you to send in pictures of them at work. These photos will be displayed in our classroom, and we will discuss the important roles these individuals play in our community. Please send all pictures in by March 18! This month, we begin our Community Helpers Unit, featuring special guests from the fire department and a nurse. Throughout the unit, we’ll also learn about police officers, postal workers, doctors, dentists, veterinarians, and many other important community helpers. We’ll kick off our Dulaney Day Vet Clinic and wrap up the unit with a fun celebration where your child can dress as their future career! Be sure to check Bloomz announcements for more details about these activities and their dates. As we move into mid-month, we’ll celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with exciting rainbow and color science activities. Later in the month, we’ll also celebrate Easter with festive activities and crafts.

After wrapping up our post office unit, we’ll celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with some leprechaun mischief and a little bit of luck. To round out the month, students will learn about the weather by experimenting with tornadoes, learning about the water cycle and rain clouds, and tracking weather patterns. We are almost finished learning each letter of the alphabet, completing V through Z this month. They are getting so excited and proud to say that they’ve mastered the entire alphabet. Before spring break, we’ll celebrate with an Alphabet Party! Information about parent-teacher conferences was sent via Bloomz. Please reach out if you need help signing up. We will have picture day again this year! Irvin Simon will take an individual picture and a class picture. For those families that have siblings, they also take a sibling shot. The M/W 2s and 3s classes will be on Wednesday, March 18th and the T/TH 2s and 4s classes will be taken on Thursday, March 19TH and the.
