WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS MONTH?

Mrs. G. & Mrs. Obaker

It is hard to believe that the winter holidays are already here. Wow, what a busy month we have planned. We will start the month making holiday gifts and talking about Hanukkah. We will make a menorah by painting our hands. We are going to get messy making potato latkes. They are delicious! We will also talk about Christmas as we make Christmas trees, holiday gifts and sing about Rudolph. It would not be the holiday season without making Christmas cookies.
This month will be filled with wonderful holiday books, music and crafts! Winter is fast approaching and so is the cold weather. Please send in hats and mittens with your son or daughter since we will still be going to the playground to play.

Mrs. Turner

Wow, time is flying and we are already in December! We are going to have a wonderful month learning about several winter holidays. We will start by reading the story of Hanukkah and will do some projects including making candles for the Menorah and spinning dreidels, as well as other fun games. Our next holiday unit will be all about Christmas and other winter activities! We will have so many books to enjoy, sensory activities, art, and even a pajama day on Friday, December 13th! Happy Holidays from Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Rainsley!

Mrs. Musci

It’s hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of the year! This month, we’ll be celebrating the December holidays. The students will begin by exploring Hanukkah traditions, including making their own menorah, playing with the dreidel (and creating art!), and preparing homemade applesauce to go with latkes. As we move forward in our unit, we’ll learn about gingerbread, reindeer, and evergreen trees. Science will come to life with fun activities like “dissolving presents” and melting peppermints. On Friday, December 13, we’ll have a hot chocolate and pajama party! If your child would like to participate, feel free to send them to school in their pajamas that day. Be sure to check the Bloomz app for more updates. Mrs. Musci, Mrs. Rainsley & Mrs. Eby wish you and your family a joyful holiday season as we welcome the new year!

Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Powell

We only have a short time until winter break, and we’re making the most of it! We’ll spend this month using gingerbread and cookie baking as an anchor for learning. Reading several different versions of the gingerbread man story will provide opportunities to build pre-reading skills, compare and contrast, and practice story retelling. Our dramatic play center will transform into a bakery, and we’ll be cooking up lots of learning through play. We’ll celebrate the end of the calendar year with a pajama and cookie decorating party on Friday, December 13. More details will be posted to Bloomz. We wish you all the coziest of holidays with your loved ones!

Mrs. Bosher

The holidays are upon us and Mrs Bosher’s friends are feeling festive! We will spend the rest of 2024 on a Gingerbread theme with some holiday magic sprinkled in here and there. Our class Holiday Pajama Party will be on Friday, December 13th. Details to follow. Please send in pants for your child’s clothing bin if you have not already done so and I will send home your child’s warm weather attire. Thank you and happy holidays!
