Mrs. G. & Mrs. Obaker

It is hard to believe that the winter holidays are already here. Wow, what a busy month we have planned.  We will read the wonderful story of the Gingerbread Man and make our own sensational gingerbread men. Then we will bake gingerbread cookies. We will start the month making holiday gifts and talking about Hanukkah. We will make a menorah by painting our hands. We are going to get messy making potato latkes. They are delicious!  We will also talk about Christmas as we make Christmas trees and sing about Rudolph. It would not be the holiday season without making Christmas cookies.

This month will be filled with wonderful holiday books, music and crafts!  Winter is fast approaching and so is the cold weather. Please send in hats and mittens with your son or daughter since we will still be going to the playground to play.

How can it possibly be December?! Mrs. Bosher is so excited to celebrate the holidays with your children. It is going to be a fantastic month. We will begin by reading the story of Hanukkah.  We will read, Sammy Spiders First Hanukkah and Ester’s Hanukkah Disaster. We will make candles for the Menorah, spin dreidels and end the week with potato latkes. Yum!

The rest of the month will be spent discussing Christmas and other fun winter activities. We will read, Bear Stays Up for Christmas, Santa Duck, The Naughtiest Reindeer and other holiday favorites. There will be art, sensory activities, experiments, reindeer food and even a pajama day on Friday, December 17. Happy holidays from Mrs. Bosher & Mrs. Pawlak!

It’s so hard to believe that we’re rounding out the end of the calendar year! This month, we’ll be celebrating December holidays. The students will start by learning about Hanukkah traditions, making their own menorah, playing (and making art!) with the dreidel, and cooking homemade applesauce, the perfect pair for latkes. As we move on to the Christmas holiday, we’ll use it as a starting place for learning more about gingerbread, reindeer, and evergreen trees. Science will come to life with hands-on “dissolving presents” and melting peppermints. On Friday, December 17 please send your child to school in their pajamas as we throw our own pajama party! Don’t forget to look for other updates in the Class Tag app. Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Musci wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season as we ring in the new year!

December will be a fun and festive month for Mrs. Pullias’ class. Our themes will center on families and the wonderful celebrations of the December holidays. It is truly the season of giving, sharing, and spending time with family and friends. We will discuss the ways each family is special and learn how our families celebrate the holidays with their own traditions and festivities. We will also learn about animal families and habitats and read and compare two different versions of The Three Bears! Our Amazing Alphabet Adventure will continue with the letters “F” and “G” and we will be busy as little elves making beautiful gifts and decorations for home. Our best wishes to all of you for a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year!

It was wonderful talking to all of you during our conferences. I could talk about your kids all day long! It is December – can you believe it!? The first week of December we are learning about Hanukkah. We are painting with dreidels and making our very own menorahs. We will then move onto our gingerbread unit and each child will make their own gingerbread man book. Our final week will be about Christmas. During this time the kids will make a very special gift to bring home for the holidays!
