April is here and it is finally spring! Your children continue to grow and develop, and it is a privilege to be a part of that! April will be a busy month for the 2s. We will explore insects including, ladybugs, and caterpillars and the beautiful changes that take place in nature! The warmer weather will make our playground time a perfect time to explore. Spring has sprung!

With warmer weather here, we’re excited to embrace everything spring has to offer. Soon, we’ll dive into plants and flowers, exploring their life cycle, growth needs, and even doing some gardening ourselves. After we wrap up our plant unit, we’ll shift our focus to bugs and insects, emphasizing the fascinating world of Earth’s smallest creatures. We’ll also kick off our “Student of the Day” project, giving each child a special opportunity to share a little bit about themselves with their classmates.

The warmer weather is here, and we’ll be enjoying all spring has to offer and during our unit on spring. We will be looking at plants and flowers, learning about their life cycle, what they need to grow, and doing some gardening of our own. After our unit on plants, we’ll start talking about bugs and insects with an emphasis on appreciating the wonders of earth’s tiniest creatures. Look for information about an egg hunt before Spring Break! After we return, we will begin our “Student of the Day” project where each child will have a special opportunity to showcase a bit of themselves for their classmates.

This month, we’re welcoming spring by wrapping up our unit on weather and learning about the changes that the new season brings. Students will be observing the life cycle of a plant with their own mini greenhouse, checking in on Pumpkin Jack’s sprouts, and using the light table for translucent flower designing and play. On Friday, April 11, we’ll celebrate the end of our year-long alphabet journey by throwing an Alphabet Party! Additional relevant info will be sent through Bloomz. After Spring Break, we’ll start a fun unit on pizza and ice cream which will include turning our dramatic play center into a pizza parlor and baking pizzas of our own. We’ll also begin our Star Student project after the break. Look for more info on that to come home with your child and on Bloomz. We hope you have a restful, fun-filled spring break!
Mrs. Bosher
We tracked the weather for the whole month of March and are happy to report 21 sunny days on our graph. Hopefully April will be just as sunny! The month starts with a short unit on weather, plants and all things Spring. Our last week before break will be spent celebrating reaching the end of the alphabet. We return from break on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22nd. We will end April talking about ways to help our planet and using recyclables in our Invention Center. A note went home asking for donated materials to make this activity happen. Thanks for your support!
